Nine area and international studies programs at the University of Wisconsin-Madison -- spearheaded by Global Studies - have received a grant from the national Social Science Research Council (SSRC) to create an interactive program that will support public dissemination of scholarship on the topic of Islam. There is a UW-Madison Press Release (23 April 2008) and articles in the campus papers: The Daily Cardinal's UW to launch Islam radio program (25 April 2008) & The Badger Herald's Islam awareness over airwaves (30 April 2008).

Published on a quarterly basis, global-e provides a forum for commentary on global events, processes, and issues. Each edition features brief essays by leading scholars and practitioners, offering provocative reflections on a range of topics with the aim of stimulating discussion among the global studies community. Commentaries will focus on public issues, theoretical debates, methodological challenges, and curricular concerns. Our aim is to provoke discussion and to provide commentators with an opportunity to circulate their ideas in a new format. The journal is managed by a collaboration of global studies programs at the Universities of Illinois, North Carolina, Wisconsin-Madison, and Wisconsin- Milwaukee.

››› Global Studies is also proud to host the Global Studies Resource Guide -- or Global Guide -- a compendium of resources linking researchers to web sites and sources in the electronic library of the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Links to the Global Guide can be found as part of the Global Studies header throughout the site.
